MUSHREE
local, natural and committed
A brand born within the SEMG.
Mushree was born from a conviction: mushrooms deserve to be grown with the same care we give them in our research. We created this brand to offer high-quality products and bring part of our passion into the daily lives of those who discover them.
Entirely developed by the Société ethnomycologique de Genève, Mushree gives this production activity a distinct identity while remaining true to the association’s values. The income generated by Mushree contributes to the development of the SEMG’s activities and the gradual creation of jobs within its structure.
Growing with care, harvesting at the right time.
Mushree is developing local production of fresh mushrooms, grown in small batches and carefully monitored at every stage.
Every crop requires time, precision and daily attention, from strain selection through to harvest, so that we can produce mushrooms we would be proud to serve at our own table.
We focus on species valued for their flavour, character and culinary qualities. Our range will gradually evolve with the seasons, our crops and new experiments carried out within the SEMG.
Small-scale production designed to prioritise quality over quantity.
Exceptional cultivation.
Two approaches, one standard.
Mushree grows its mushrooms using two complementary cultivation methods.
Part of our production takes place in a controlled environment, where temperature, humidity, light and other growing conditions are carefully managed.
This approach provides optimal growing conditions, consistent quality and impeccable freshness.
At the same time, some species are grown outdoors on logs placed in the forest. Their growth follows the rhythm of the seasons and the conditions of each environment.
Slower and more demanding, this method produces mushrooms with especially sought-after textures, aromas and character.
We choose the cultivation method best suited to each species, with one constant priority: respecting the mushroom’s needs before pursuing yield.
Functional mushrooms.
Where traditions meet scientific knowledge.
Mushree also grows several species recognised for the place they have held for centuries in the medicinal traditions of many regions of the world.
Every species is produced to the same exacting standards as the rest of our range. We pay particular attention to strain quality, cultivation methods and the conditions required for optimal growth.
This work continues the approach developed by the Société ethnomycologique de Genève. Each mushroom is accompanied by documented information about its history, traditional uses and the scientific knowledge currently available, providing information that is reliable, accessible and nuanced.
An economic activity supporting a nonprofit mission.
Mushree belongs to the Société ethnomycologique de Genève. Its activity contributes directly to funding the association.
The income generated supports projects in documentation, training, knowledge sharing and public outreach centred on fungi. It is also intended to help create sustainable jobs connected with these activities.
Choosing Mushree means buying a local product while supporting a nonprofit organisation dedicated to ethnomycology.

A story just beginning
Welcome to Mushree.
Production will develop gradually so that we can build a coherent range while maintaining consistent quality.
We want to offer carefully cultivated mushrooms and make every purchase a tangible contribution to the projects of the Société ethnomycologique de Genève.
